If you are interested in learning more about becoming a CASA volunteer and the rewards that come along with serving as the voice of a child, you can visit the Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/casaofappalachianjudicialcircuit?fref=ts.

I was wondering if you could share that I have a missing dog he went missing today here's the info. Chihuahua: male, his name is Houston. He's like a blue tick color with brown and white feet and a white chest. Really sweet, not even a year old. Lost on Progress Rd. If anyone sees please message me on Facebook as Shawna Parks or call 706-889-7090. Thank you!

    Weather report!!!!!!

Some citizens reported seeing snow flurries last night and into the early morning hours in the land of Gilmer!

I've checked Sheriff One Doplar radar and beg to differ. First let me explain...Every action has an equal and opposite reaction (or something like that)! So.....

We nabbed the chicken house burglars. Therefore, chickens are flourishing. Flourishing chickens have more feathers. The more feathers chicken has, the more that fly off during their farewell transport.

    Therefore.......YES!!!!

Those were NOT snow flakes! They were chicken feathers from a recent truck that went by.......!?!?! We banned snow and Elsa and all her kin folk a while back!

Lol! I love my job and more than that I love GCSO FBr's!!!! Stay warm, my friends!

My unofficial release for this week:

Okay, my beloved FBr's....Today has been a whirlwind. Much information was received through my ears, bounced around a bit, and then at least a little of it processed into thoughts.

A couple of my "fans" suggested I start a blog as I'm evidently funny...witty...comical. Here's my answer......NO! Don't have the time for that, and I believe there's only so much cynicism people can handle. So no blogs for me!

In the last week or so...my very capable detectives have made a couple of arrests in a series of chicken farm burglaries. Yes, folks. For all of you fans that are city folk, up here in the country, we have burglars that will steal from farmers....the hardest working people in the world! Well guess what!!! We take that serious up here in God's country! And we'll put your hind ends in jail for such. You don't steal from the people that grow FOOD!!!!

We've had several wrecks this week...more than usual. Funny thing is a lot of them have happened on good straight highways! And they weren't even under the influence. C'mon folks....Follow my good friend's advice and we'll abolish wrecks. 1) don't speed! 2) don't tailgate 3) and don't be stupid! My good friend, an infamous local attorney, swears that these three ideas, IF followed, would end all traffic accidents. I agree. I just don't think we can all handle #3!

Weather.....!!!! Yeah, look. It's gonna be cold this weekend. Everybody's talking about it. You've got two choices. You can pack up your bikinis, shorts, tank tops, mini-clothes, flip flops and suntan lotion and dig out all your "cold weather gear" OR...You can save yourself a lot of time, spend the weekend indoors, and get ready for spring AGAIN next week! Just wear a jacket. Don't dig out your snow chains, and you won't feel ridiculous Monday morning

If you just can't handle the rapidly changing, back and forth weather of a Georgia spring, hey.....Go skydiving! That'll take your mind off the temperature. And, if you don't like that idea..... Well you can just go turn the radio on and listen to whatever YOU listen to. Personally, for me, it's a Jason Aldean kinda evening!

I wish you all a great weekend! Stay safe! Drive carefully and don't be stupid! Stay warm! And, know that GCSO is on the job and we're looking out for you! And.....Yeah....We're still leading the way!

    Your Sheriff!!!
