The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is headed by Captain Brian Shepard.

The Division is responsible for the investigation of all crimes committed within unincorporated areas of Gilmer County.

The Division is divided into subsections that specialize in different types of crimes. The members of this Division are veteran law enforcement officers that are highly trained in their specialties. The Investigators work as a team and assist each other when necessary to solve each case as quickly as possible.
